Gameplay of Temple Run: Oz
In Temple Run, the player controls Guy Dangerous, an explorer, Scarlett Fox, an escape artist, Barry Bones, a city police officer, Karma Lee, the fastest runner in Far East, Montana Smith, "the second-largest explorer ever to exist" ( referring to Indiana Jones as the world's greatest explorer), Francisco Montoya, the Spanish winner, or Zack Wonder, a soccer star. Since the game is an endless running game, there is no end to the temple; the player plays until the character crashes into a huge obstacle, falls into the water, or is overtaken by demonic monkeys.
While the character is active, the player can swipe left or right to move the character to the side of the screen to collect coins and / or to avoid obstacles. There are three types of coins available while the coin is working: gold, red, and blue. The gold coin will only include one coin in the player's total coin value. Red coins cost two coins, while blue coins cost three. Coins can be used to purchase and upgrade power-ups and / or other coins.
Coins can also be purchased by the player by in-app purchases for real money payments. When a player needs a left or right turn, the touch screen can be switched to the corresponding direction. If a player wishes to jump over an object, the screen can be swung up; if the player wishes to slide under an object, the screen can be switched down.
